Spitfire Ace View all products

Experience the first taste of flight enjoyed by every Spitfire Ace. They all learned on Tiger Moths! It was the perfect aeroplane for training young men to fly Spitfires and Hurricanes. The long nose, the delicate handling, the powerful bark of the exhaust. It’s where they all started.

The GoFly Spitfire Ace experience takes you up in a 1930’s vintage Tiger Moth which itself saw active service in WW2 training hundreds of pilots who then went on to fly Spitfires and Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain. The experience is unforgetable and takes around 20 minutes.

The package includes a free entry to the famous Boscombe Down Aircraft Collection from where you will be kitted out with flying helmet and leather jacket prior to flying. While waiting to fly you can browse the unique collection of military aircraft there, many of which you can climb into. It includes a replica BE2C from WW1, a de Havilland Chipmunk and a large collection of Cold War jets including the Hunter and the Lightning.

Span eighty years of military flying in one day. Fly in a 1930s biplane and then climb into a supersonic jet fighter!

Based in Salisbury, at the birthplace of military flying, and with a strong link to the Armed Services, GoFly assists ex-serviceman’s charities such as the Army Benevolent Fund, the RAF Benevolent Fund and Help for Heroes.
